Joel Kinsch is the third generation of his family in the HVAC industry and is currently the owner of Elite Service Company, specializing in the building science of commercial and residential HVAC. He has a BS Degree from Bartlesville Wesleyan College in Business Management. He was also a co-founder and chairman of North American Technician Excellence (or NATE) – an organization that sets the standards for HVAC technicians. During his career, Joel has been published in several trade journals including Contracting Business and AC News. He has been a committee member and external technical consultant for Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES), Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), and Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors (PHCC). He has also worked with Penton Publishing, which publishes HVAC textbooks, and served as a technical editor for the ARI Refrigeration principles textbook.
Joel has been a guest speaker at dozens of industry conventions on a variety of HVAC topics. He has been a consultant for hundreds of HVAC business owners and technicians for HVAC business management in the areas of Design, marketing, business practices, and technical support. Just a few of his certifications include Air balancing from the National Comfort Institute (NCI), certification from the EPA as an Energy Star (HERS) home rater, a building performance analyst from the Building Performance Institute (BPI), green home rater for National Home Builders (NHB), Oklahoma energy auditor, LEEDS for homes verifier, certified instructor for ACCA in heat/gain load calculation and duct design, and Oklahoma’s unlimited mechanical contractor license.
