Todd is a Partner at Sax and has more than 30 years of in-depth auditing and accounting experience. Due to his extensive knowledge in a wide range of industries, Todd has been tasked with kick-starting several new Practice areas for the firm over the years from conception to long-term success. Currently, Todd leads the firm’s Cannabis, Transaction Advisory and Not-for-Profit Practices.
As Leader of Sax’s Cannabis Practice, Todd understands the intricacies of the rapidly expanding and evolving industry, and provides advisory services to cultivators, dispensaries, extractors, investors and manufactures to help structure entities and accounting practices. In the challenging and changing regulatory environment, Todd provides guidance on the license application process, proper financial reporting, cash management, internal controls, and minimizing taxes in all aspects of the seed-to-sale process.
As Head of Sax’s Transaction Advisory Practice, Todd assists private equity companies by thoroughly analyzing and validating financial, operational and strategic measures that capture opportunities and minimize loss and liabilities through the transaction process. He counsels clients on deal structuring to ensure the successful integration of business operations, cultures and strategies, and to maximize the value of their investment. His mission is to ensure a smooth transaction from conceptualization to hand-off.
Todd leads Sax’s Not-for-Profit Practice and provides highly proficient audit, tax and consulting services to a wide array of not-for-profit organizations. Besides providing the highest quality compliance services that not-for-profit’s need, Todd also works to bring value to every engagement in order to assist them in propelling their mission forward and meeting their overall potential.
Todd has presented over 100 educational programs to professionals and to the public. He has lectured on various accounting and auditing matters for organizations such as Fairleigh Dickinson University, Montclair State University, the Center for Non-Profits, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Continuing Education Program, the State of New Jersey Department of Human Services, and New Jersey Department of Education. In addition, Todd is actively involved in the training and education of clients and staff on the new auditing standards put forth by the Auditing Standards Board.
Todd is a Certified Public Accountant in both New Jersey and New York. He is also the creator of the Smart Good podcast, designed for the entrepreneur with a big heart who wants to live the upgraded American Dream – turning a profile while making a difference in our world.
